Whether you're looking to settle in and relax or enjoy some island hopping, the U.S. Virgin Islands boast plenty of luxurious or budget-friendly accommodation options to suit any taste or style. From luxury villas, chic hotels and a coterie of condominiums in between, St. Thomas offers an abundance of choices.
For those seeking more privacy with the comforts of home, luxury villas and estates have become a driving force of tourism to the Virgin Islands, and all four islands don’t disappoint when it comes to having plenty of gorgeous homes to select from. McLaughlin Anderson Luxury Villas was a frontrunner in bringing the villa rental business to the Caribbean and still manages the largest assortment of luxury homes across seven islands in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Larger commercial brands such as The Marriott Frenchman’s Reef, The Ritz-Carlton Resort, Wyndham Resorts at Sugar Bay, The Holiday Inn at Windward Passage, Best Western Emerald Beach are all found on St. Thomas and The Westin Resort and the famous Rockefeller resort Caneel Bay, are on St. John – each being located on different parts of the island and offering a wide array of amenities. Smaller boutique hotels and inns have become popular since the 90’s, but one family-owned beachfront resort – Bolongo Bay Beach Resort - has been around since the 70’s and is famous for their family-friendly nightly activities, music, entertainment and food. Condominium rentals abound across the island; search for names like Anchorage, Bluebeard’s, Cowpet Bay, Crystal Cove, Mahogany Run, Pavilions and Pools, Sapphire Village, Secret Harbor and Watergate.
With two-thirds of St. John being dedicated as a National Park by Nelson Rockefeller, it should come as no surprise that the eco-friendly resorts and campgrounds are located on this island. On the north shore can be found Maho Bay Camprounds and Cinnamon Bay Campgrounds, with Concordia Resorts located on the south shore.
