Originally from St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, Nevin began playing golf at age 21 at Mahogany Run Golf Course where he was first introduced to the game. After that it was history; his love and passion for the game jump-started him into a long and promising career.

He committed himself towards acquiring PGA membership status, which he obtained in 2006. Besides his more formal education through the PGA, Nevin has spent countless hours reading golf periodicals, watching instructional videos, attending PGA Teaching & Coaching Seminars and networking with other established Professionals.

Nevin is a natural instructor, whose patient, calm demeanor adds tremendous value to his lessons. His passion for teaching continues to grow through the years and he serves as a great mentor to his junior golf students and to his adult clientele as well. Despite the fact that he took up golf at such a late age, he is living proof that it is never too late to take an interest in golf and to take it as far as you want.

With a distinguished client roster and a vast cross section of golf clients of all skill levels, Nevin has also enjoyed golfing with notables such as President Clinton, numerous celebrities and world corporate elite.

Recently awarded as the distinguished PGA Merchandiser of the Year, Nevin has brought the Mahogany Run Golf Shop to the attention of PGA members and to golfers worldwide and garnered tremendous recognition for Mahogany Run.

There’s no greater pleasure for me than to see the joy on my student’s faces when they hit a good shot. My philosophy is; I haven’t done my job well until they see success. I started my golf career in 2002 by revitalizing a junior golf association and then teaching juniors. In 2006, I joined the PGA’s Professional Golf Management program as an apprentice. I have been a part of the Mahogany Run Golf Course team as an Assistant Golf Professional since 2008. I direct the Junior Golf Program, conduct Ladies Clinics and give private lessons. Here at Mahogany Run, we have a beautiful course so it’s only fitting that I do my best to make sure you have a beautiful golfing experience. See you on the lesson tee.
